Rags Racing Ready for the 2008 Race Season |
Rags Racing Had a Great March
We did some up grades over the winter. I tested and tuned Friday March 14th, at the Las Vegas Speedway and everything was working as good as we had planned. We raced on March 15th, at Jerry's Nugget. There were 22 bikes in the field and I made it to the quarter finals. The last 6 I dialed in at 10.33 and ran a 10.337, but lost the race on a hole shot. I lost by 3 thousands of a second.
On March 28 we were in Whitman, AZ for the AHDRA race. I tested and tuned on Friday . I was dialed in from the first pass. Saturday was qualifying. The weather conditions changed enough to throw Friday's set up out the window. I tried to slow the bike down, but it was going faster! I was running two classes, SS 10.30 and SE 10.90. On the next to the last pass I got the set up I wanted and ended up number 1 qualifier for the SS 10.30 class. Needless to say I was last in the 10.90 class.
Sunday was eliminations and SE 10.90 class ran first. I went to fast and lost the first round, so I was left with the SS 10.30 class. The set up from Saturday held up all day and I made it to the final round. It was a really good race and at the end my win light came on!
I want to thank Jay Reid, my crew chief, for the up grades in the off season. It made all the difference. Jay is also my major sponsor and owner of Sinister Cycles. Also thanks to Richard at Apache Electric, Mike at Cate Equipment and Kent at Speciality Solutions. I also want to thank my girlfriend, Jo Ann, for capturing me thru the camera lens and for all her hugs and kisses.
We have a few races in Vegas this April. Talk to you next month, unless I see you at the track.
PS: We will be posting new pictures, check back soon.
Thanks,
Rags
