Rags Racing Ready for the 2009 Race Season |
May Newsletter 2009
We had three local bracket series races in May. The first was Saturday night, May 2nd and we qualified in the middle of the field. My clutch was pulling me through the staging beams when I went up on the two stage and we only got two qualifing passes. By eliminations, I had the clutch adjusted to where it needed to be. I cut an .017 reaction time and got to the finish line first with my opponent right at my side. But I busted out and lost.
Sunday morning was the fourth in the Wicked HP series. And I qualified in the top third in the field. In the first round I cut an .031 light and backed off on the top end to get the win. The second and third rounds were about the same, all was going well.
That took me to the semi finals and I got a bye in the semi finals that put me into the finals. In the finals I was racing an 8 second bike. I cut a .004 light and then again backed off on the top end, and won that round and the event! That put us up to #1 in the points after four races.
May 9th was our fifth race in the series. We qualified number 4 with an .016 reaction time. In the first round I cut an .019 light and backed off on the top end because my opponent was a few bike lengths behind me and I still busted out! Going out in the first round, when you are #1 in the points, is not a good thing. By the end of the race we went down to fourth palce, but only one round out of first. We also tied for first place in the MDRA Super Sport Class.
June will be a busy month we have four races in three weeks. June 6th and 7th is Wicked HP Series #6 & #7 in Vegas. June 13 & 14 is Division 7 in Fallon, NV. And June 20 & 21 is MDRA in Vegas.
Hope to see you at the track.
